925 sterling silver naturally develops a soft patina over time. This is especially common in bracelets and necklaces, as daily exposure to skin oils, perspiration, and environmental elements can accelerate oxidation. This process is entirely natural and a hallmark of genuine silver.

To preserve the brilliance of your jewellery, we recommend gently rinsing each piece at the end of the day with mild soap, drying it thoroughly, and storing it in the airtight ziplock bag provided. Limiting exposure to air and moisture helps slow oxidation and maintain its lustre.

When tarnish appears, it can be safely removed using our Deep Cleaning Method, designed to restore silver to its original radiance.

Before beginning, gently cleanse the jewellery with mild soap to remove any surface residue.

What You Will Need
- A small bowl or cup
- Aluminium foil
- Fine cooking salt (avoid Himalayan or coarse sea salt)
- Hot water

Cleaning Steps
1. Add 7–8 teaspoons of fine salt into a small bowl or cup.
2. Pour in hot water and stir until the salt dissolves completely.
3. Line the bottom of the bowl with aluminium foil, shiny side facing upward, ensuring it is fully submerged in the salt solution.
4. Place the silver jewellery into the bowl and gently agitate for 10–15 seconds. Allow it to soak slightly longer if required.
5. Using disposable chopsticks or tweezers, remove the jewellery and rinse thoroughly under running water.
6. Pat dry with a soft tissue or lint-free cloth.
7. Finish by gently buffing with a silver polishing cloth to enhance the shine. Avoid applying excessive tension to chains.

Daily Care Recommendations
- Lightly polish with a silver polishing cloth after each wear.
- Store jewellery individually in an airtight ziplock bag when not in use.
- Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, chlorine, and household chemicals.
- Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising to extend its lifespan.

Jewellery Not Suitable for the Deep Cleaning Method
This method should not be used on the following designs:

  1. Pearl jewellery
Pearls are organic and porous. Heat and salt may damage their surface.
  2. Jewellery with synthetic or coated stones
The cleaning reaction may affect surface coatings or adhesives.
  3. Plated jewellery
Includes gold-plated, gold vermeil, and rhodium-plated pieces, as the process may thin or remove the plating over time.
  4. Jewellery with glued components
Heat from the hot water can weaken adhesives.
  5. Blackened or oxidised silver designs
The method will remove intentional oxidation used for contrast and design.
  6. Enamel jewellery
Heat exposure may cause enamel to crack or lose its finish.
  7. Jewellery with soft or porous gemstones
    Such as opal or turquoise.
