If you feel apprehensive about shopping for rings online because you are unsure of your ring size, here are some ways to measure and ensure that your purchase fits perfectly. Before we dive into the how-tos, here are 2 points to note.
1. Snug/Loose?
Your ring should slide in to fit your finger comfortably, should be snug enough so that it will not fall out but also loose enough to slide over your knuckle. It is normal to feel a bit of resistance when you remove it over your knuckle, but you should not feel any pain, burning or tingling sensation. You should also be able to spin your ring on your finger. If you face difficulty, the ring is too tight.
2. Size of Your Finger Changes
The size of your finger will definitely change if you experience weight loss or gain. But did you know that your size might also vary depending on the time of day and weather? Our fingers tend to become warmer (thus size is bigger and ring fits tighter) when the weather is hot, and colder when the temperature drops.
How to Measure Ring Size
A) Use A String/Ribbon/Thread
Start by cutting a small piece of string, ribbon or thread and wrap it snugly around your finger. Aim for a comfortable fit and be careful not to wrap it too tight. Then, mark the end of the string with a pen or marker. Measure the length of the string with a ruler and match it with the below corresponding guide to find your desired ring size. The circumference and diameter measurements are matched to the inner edges of the ring.

B) Use a Ring Sizer
Using a typical ring sizer will definitely aid you in measuring your fingers accurately and effectively. Simply loop your finger through the individual ring sizers to find a fit that is most comfortable.

Here’s how to use our Ring Sizer
1. Relax your fingers when taking measurements.
2. Remove the individual sizers from the key ring.
3. Slowly rotate the individual key ring to find the right fit. It should be snug enough, and should not fall out easily.
4. If the ring size is too big, the ring sizer will feel loose and can be rotated easily on your finger. If this happens, size down.
C) Using An Existing Ring
Measure the inner diameter of an existing ring with a standard ruler. With the inner diameter measurement, match it with the below corresponding guide to find your desired ring size.
For example the inner diameter of the above ring is around 16.7mm, match it with the below guide, and you'll see that the ring is in Size 12.
